人有时真迷茫，在文学和工作之间，我非常难抉择。以前，文学曾促进我的工作，如今，文学却阻碍我的工作。以前我写些新闻报道之类的小东西，不但可以得到领导的奖赏、丰厚的报酬和一定的名气。到兰以来，我真正投入创作，虽然写了2本杂文集、1本散文集、1本诗歌集，付出了大量的精力和时间，但得到的非常有限。由是，我写作热情陡减，以至于今年以来，没有写出一篇象样的东西。
“1号作家”陈玉福专门打电话鼓励我写作，说文学贵在坚持，他坚持了30年，才有今日之成果，我才坚持几年。说的也是，我开始在报上发展作品是1994年，但真正创作是从2007年起，至今才4年。想在如此短的时间内纵横驰骋中国文坛，确有一定的难度。
自古以来，文学是寂寞的事业。文学忌浮躁与功利，而我正好犯了大忌。故应沉静下来，坚持写些东西。然而，写作必要放眼世界，胸怀祖国，有宽广的视野才能写出好文章。如果坐井观天、视野狭小，很难写出好的杂文。对我而言，我深知杂文还是我的强项，这是与我的性格有关，故亦应发挥杂文特长，兼写散文、诗歌。应正确处理工作与写作的关系，始终应把工作放在首位。
文人无行，是说一部分文人的。现在网络上有一些人把谩骂当成本事，余秋雨等名人可以有争议，但应该有理有据，不能胡搅蛮缠，更不能骂娘。那种野蛮的文风，应该格杀勿论。
